Email SupportCommon Questions
Why does the app show two temperatures everywhere?
GhalamWeather always shows both °F and °C together. You can choose which one displays larger — go to Settings and set your Primary Unit; the other unit still shows alongside it.
Do I need to sign up for anything?
No. The core weather data comes from Open-Meteo, which needs no account or key. The only optional exception is the next-hour rain intensity graph, which requires your own free OpenWeatherMap API key if you choose to enable it in Settings.
How does the widget keep updating if I don't open the app?
By default, the current-location widget updates when you open the app. If you turn on "Enable Background Location" in Settings, iOS's low-power location service can also refresh it automatically as you move — even with the app closed. Note that if you manually force-quit the app from the App Switcher, iOS may not reliably wake it back up until you open it yourself; that's a platform limitation, not something the app can fully guarantee.
Why does the barometric pressure trend just say "steady" when I first open the app?
The trend (rising, falling, or steady) is calculated from your device's own barometer readings over the past few hours. It needs about 30 minutes of continuous history before it can tell a genuine trend apart from normal sensor noise, so it starts as "steady" until enough data has built up.
Can I choose which weather source is used?
Open-Meteo always powers the core forecast. You can additionally enable OpenWeatherMap in Settings, purely as an add-on for the next-hour rain graph — it doesn't replace Open-Meteo for anything else.
Does the app work in French?
Yes — GhalamWeather is fully localized in English and French, and follows your device's language and region settings automatically.
How do I remove a saved location?
Swipe to that location's page, scroll down, and tap "Delete Location," then confirm. Your current-location page can't be deleted since it's managed automatically by your device's location.
